DESCRIPTION:Meeting Sponsor:\n\nMedina County Board of Developmental Disabilities\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin the NMCCA chamber for our September monthly member luncheon with Shannan Dunbar\, BSN RN COHN-S FAAOHN\, founder and president of Workplace Health Inc. \n\n\n\nShanna Dunbar\, BSN\, RN\, COHN-S\, FAAOHN leverages 30 years of occupational health experience as the founder and president of Workplace Health Inc. Her focus\, using Total Worker Health  (TWH) strategies\, aims at improving employee health and productivity. TWH programs protect worker safety while promoting employee wellbeing and productivity\; stabilize rising health care costs while reducing work related injuries.\n\n\n\nShe is a Registered Nurse and board certified in Occupational Health Nursing as a Specialist and a Fellow of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses (AAOHN). She is a past President of the Ohio Association of Occupational Health Nurses (OAOHN). She holds a Certificate in Workers' Compensation Administration and Management from the University of California. Her educational preparation at UCLA in Kinesiology brings a particular expertise in Ergonomics and job analysis. She is a 2015 graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10\,000 Small Businesses program\, cohort 8. She is a member of the Healthy Business Council of Ohio\, Northeast Ohio.\n\n\n\nHer experience working with employers championing cost-effective programs such as Mental Health\, Substance Misuse Prevention\, Injury and Illness Prevention\, Disease and Disability Management\, and Workers' Compensation Risk Management to increase employee wellbeing and productivity. As one of the first instructors trained in Mental Health First Aid in the state of Ohio\, she has a special interest in addressing mental health in the workplace.\n\n\n\nHer TWH approach address both injury and chronic disease reduction to improve workforce health more rapidly and effectively. Ms. Dunbar's commitment to a holistic TWH strategy showcases the potential to advance employee wellbeing and organizational success.
