WHAT IS THE EMPLOYEE FREE CHOICE ACT?
The Employee Free Choice Act or “Card Check” is federal legislation that would change the process by which employees are unionized. Under Card Check, employees will lose their right to cast a private ballot to decide whether to be represented by a union – making their vote public to everyone. Employers, on the other hand, will face higher costs and may be forced to accept contract terms decided by an arbitrator. Card Check hurts employees, employers and our economy. Organized labor is the only winner.
